The Resistance Monument in Groningen is a memorial wall constructed from red brick, with a natural stone plaque set into the centre. The top and bottom sections of the monument are made of light coloured natural stone, with two smaller plaques positioned on either side near the base.
The monument stands 3.5 metres high, is 3 metres wide and 75 centimetres deep. Its design resembles a gateway. In front of the monument, a marble slab measuring approximately 3 by 1 metre has been placed in the ground.
The central plaque features two crosses and a relief of the Dutch lion. The roaring lion holds a sword in its raised right forepaw. Beneath the lower cross are reliefs of an anchor and a heart.
Ten connected gravestones stand on the lawn in front of the monument. They commemorate members of the resistance who are not individually mentioned on the monument.
