Monument21 is an abstract work of art consisting of 21 Corten steel plates. This number refers to the number of people who lived in the Stadskanaalster Achterhuis. The plates are slightly curved and symbolize the pages of a book. The 15 mm thick steel plates vary in height from 70 to 170 cm and are firmly anchored in the ground over a length of approximately 21 meters.
The monument is located near the original site of the small farmhouse belonging to the Drenth family, in a green area along the Kromme Wijk.
