In Poland, 1943, four young lives intertwine through a series of extraordinary events: ROMEK, a village boy; GUIDO, a German soldier stationed in the occupied village; FRANKA, the daughter of a prosperous local farmer; and BUNIA, a Jewish girl who escapes from a train bound for a death camp. In the midst of their harsh reality, each of them discovers something that is both a peril and a refuge: love. Can they cling to their dreams amid the horrors of their time and the uncertainty of the future?
